Buon giorno!
What a gorgeous day! I really am loving the Sicilian sun, and the smiling Sicilians...We've gotten to know some more families here, and are happily going around Siracusa talking with them.
I went to Catania to swap for a day with the sisters there, and so I spent some time on buses, talking with other people, and cooking some chestnuts (the sisters there had a giant bag from someone). Yum!
Sunday was the annual "Primary Program" or in other words, all the children in the congregation spoke and sang instead of the adults. It was a wonderful experience seeing them and it reminded me of how we really do need to become like children as Jesus taught (quick to forgive, optimistic, accepting, inquisitive...) I think that is some of why I love teaching so much and being around youth.
the series continues:
• What is the purpose of life?
I believe that we are really all children of God and that we are here to learn and grow and find real happiness. As we overcome trials and understand that God really does love us, we become better people and slowly prepare ourselves to live with him again (as our spirit did before this earth).
Ahh! the owner has to get her kid! Ok, till next week!
Con tanto affetto,
Sorella Black
Last week's word: i diavolini [ee dee-ah-voh-lee-nee] sprinkles (e.g. for cupcakes)
Italian word of the week: ignoto
• What does Jesus Christ expect of me?
• How can a belief in Jesus Christ help me?
• Is there life after death?
• How can I find peace and joy?
• How can my family be happier and more united?
• How can I balance my family and career?
• Does my infant need to be baptized?
• How can I strengthen my relationship with my spouse?
• How can I avoid the evils that threaten my family?
• How can I avoid sin?
